About Michelle Frechette Ames

Michelle Frechette Ames has lived in Western Monroe County since 1979. As a long-time resident of Hilton, she is committed to her community.

A dedicated public servant, Michelle is currently serving a fourth term on the Hilton Central School District Board of Education (eleven years to date); a member of the New York State School Boards Association; the Secretary of the Hilton-Parma-Hamlin Chamber of Commerce; Board Member (and past president) of Parma Christian Fellowship Church; and former board officer of several local non-profit organizations.

Michelle earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Roberts Wesleyan College and an MBA from the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business. She has over twenty years of experience in higher education; six years owning a web design and marketing company; and currently works remotely as the Head of Customer Success for Give, a technology company based in San Diego, California, that provides software that makes fundraising even easier for non-profit organizations.

As a pay-it-forward professional, Michelle has organized industry events for web designers in both Rochester and Buffalo for many years including small-scale tech meetups, web design power days building brand new sites for local non-profit organizations, and larger web design conferences including out-of-town speakers and guests. She is a frequent speaker at tech events throughout North America, with talks including “Using Your WordPress Powers for good,” “The Hidden Features of WordPress,” “How to Hire Your New Superintendent,” and “Using Focus Groups to Inform Your School District Practices.”

Besides organizing events and participating in non-profit growth, Michelle enjoys learning new things, exploring photography, and mentoring people in her local community.

Michelle is the author of recently-released book “A Good Firm Handshake (and other essential business tips),” providing marketing and business advice for small business owners and managers, and a former business blogger for the Democrat and Chronicle.

Michelle resides in Hilton, New York.
